Funding

£10.5 million has already been raised from Advantage West Midlands, Heritage Lottery Fund, Worcestershire County Council and Wychavon District Council, however to 'unlock' this money the Partnership need to raise a further £1 million.

So for every donation made, the Droitwich Canals Restoration Partnership can access pledged funding of ten times that amount. For example, if someone makes a donation of £43.48 (to restore half a metre), the Partnership would be able to 'unlock' £434.80 of pledged funding.

Key facts

  • 11,500m of canal needs to bee restored.
  • Sponsor a meter of this restoration for £86.95 and your support will be commemorated on a special plaque to be placed in Vines Park, Droitwich.

Ways in which we can maximise your donation:

  • £10.5 million has already been pledged but a further £1 million is needed to 'unlock' this funding, therefore for every gift donated the project can access ten times that amount.
  • If you are a taxpayer, donations can be gift aided which means the Chancellor adds and extra 30% to your donation at no extra cost to yourself.
