The waterways provide many opportunities for business activities:
- Commercial use of boats - including trip boats, hire boats, holiday hires, floating cafes and shops and vessels used as workshops or for any kind of trade
- Waterside facilities - ranging from a refreshment van that calls occasionally at one location through to permanent business premises that offer one, or a combination of the following: accommodation; catering; cycle hire; craft sales; and chandlery
- Development of new moorings and marinas - British Waterways South West can advise third party land owners and developers on potential new mooring developments in the region
