Promoting Waterside Tourism
London's waterways play a critical role in the communities through which they flow. Local links are essential to our work and we are dedicated to developing and maintaining strong relationships with all those with a shared interest in London's waterspace and the areas around it.
We work closely with all the tourism businesses on and around our waterway network to develop and promote the diverse experiences they offer.
As well as working with the tourism and leisure businesses around the network, British Waterways London is a member of Visit London, Tour East London and Hounslow Association of Tourism. By working with these organisations we can develop our local links and maximise the reach and impact of our messages.
We support many waterside festivals that take place throughout the summer months attracting large numbers of visitors from the local community and across the country. We also attend festivals that take place further afield to promote London's canals and rivers. There are also third party events taking place on the London network across the year. Click here to find out more about third party activities on and around the waterways.
With all promotional activity, value for money is a priority so PR underpins a lot of our work. We regularly target regional, local and lifestyle press and listing magazines to get our message across.
