BW Scotland Budget statement

British Waterways (BW) welcomes the UK Government’s announcement today in its Budget statement of plans to move England & Wales' 200-year old canal network into a mutual organisation, such as a charitable trust, and is discussing with the Scottish Government the options for its waterways in Scotland.

BW Scotland to launch first Caledonian canoe trail

Record turnout for Bigman2 festival

An estimated 4000 visitors turned out for the second Bigman event held on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Maryhill Locks, on Sunday 20 September. This is a fantastic increase on the 2500 people who attented last year's festival.

Landmark angling agreement brings free fishing to under 16s

Five day celebration on the Caledonian Canal begins

An international flotilla of historic and modern craft were given a rapturous send off on Tuesday 16 June as they set sail from Neptune's Staircase, on a five day journey along the Caledonian Canal as part of The Crossing; British Waterways Scotland's contribution to Homecoming 2009.
