Love struck actors hit if off at The Falkirk Wheel

 

A real life love story is unfolding on the set of one of the festive season?s most popular Christmas shows.

 

Just as the Tin Man found his heart in The Falkirk Wheel?s production of the Wheely Wizard of Oz, Dorothy promptly stole it again.    Actress Catherine Grant from Falkirk and Boat Master John Morrison from Stirling met at rehearsals for the boat trip show back in November and now the two have hit it off big time.

 

?We got on really well from the first day we met,? says Catherine.   ?But it was only when the show got going and Dorothy started searching for the Tin Man?s heart that the relationship started to blossom.?

 

?The cast have been great and Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion were delighted,? added John.   ?Even the wicked witch wished us all the best!? 

 

The Show at the world?s first rotating boat lift is proving to be a huge success, with hundreds already jumping on board the adventure boat trips this festive season.  

 

Commenting on the love struck actors Richard Millar, Lowland Canals Manager at British Waterways said; ?When I heard that Dorothy had stolen the Tin Man?s heart I assumed this referred to the Wizard of Oz storyline.   I am delighted for the pair of them but I must admit I did get a bit of a surprise when I discovered that our trip boat had turned into a love boat!?

 

The Wizard of Oz boat trip will run on the 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st December with the final trips on the 3rd and 4th January.   The Falkirk Wheel will be closed on 24th, 25th and 26th December and on 1st and 2nd January.   Theme trips depart hourly at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Trips should be pre-booked by calling 08700 500208 and cost ?10 for adults, ?7 for children and ?3.50 for under 5?s. A family ticket for 2 adults and 2children can be purchased at a cost of ?32.   The price includes a free gift for all children and a festive drink and snack for the adults.
