Filming
British Waterways South West, is home to a mix of locations suitable for filming. Locations range from the beautiful Wiltshire countryside to the historic Docks at Gloucester.
Below are just a few suggestions of locations we have throughout British Waterways South West:
Cotswold Canals
•Inglesham Roundhouse
A rare opportunity to use an attractive canal setting without the hassle of boats and other users. The site comprises around three acres of land, the picturesque Roundhouse, an occupied warehouse, historic derelict lock and bridge.
The site is bounded by the Thames and Severn Canal (derelict) and the River Thames.
•Brimscombe Port
A working industrial estate with some empty (but not waterproof) buildings and ample hard standing. Bounded by the River Frome and close to the main Swindon - Stroud railway and A419. Derelict garage at the eastern end of the site bounded by overgrown wasteland.
Kennet & Avon Canal
•Caen Hill
A historic Scheduled Ancient Monument comprising 16 locks in close succession. Caen Hill provides a picture perfect location for filming.
Gloucester & Sharpness Canal
•Gloucester Docks
The historic Docks at Gloucester are an ideal filming location for period dramas.
•Saul Junction
Saul Junction is one of the most beautiful spots on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal and an ideal location for filming. It is also the home of the annual boat gathering on the G&S Canal.

•Amazing Grace - Motion picture 'Amazing Grace' was filmed on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal.
•The Giblet Boys - Children's ITV drama filmed on the Kennet & Avon Canal
•Afterlife - ITV drama filmed on the Kennet & Avon Canal
