Goytre Wharf

Intrinsic to the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park, Goytre Wharf between Abergavenny and Pontypool is a shining example of rural regeneration. Cared for by British Waterways, the rejuvenated wharf provides a historic gateway to the World Heritage Landscape of industrial South Wales.

There are now two heritage trails on site featuring literature and sculptures, bringing benefits to its rural community. The trails forms part of a wider plan to celebrate culture and creativity, enabling visitors to learn about the site's history, whilst offering a fantastic glimpse into what life was like for the working boatmen.

Further information about the transformation of Goytre Wharf, can be obtained from the visitor centre.
